Truth Tuesday

I decided to start doing Truth Tuesday. I follow Nina on the Moon and it something she started and so I decided after reading some of her great truths, I should do follow suit.

So here is my first truth.  In honor of starting back to school it has things to do with college.

Truth--I hate when someone sits in my seat.  I have no idea why, but it makes me VERY anxious when I have to sit in another seat.

Destination Day: West Liberty University!

I decided since I am headed up to school today to take care of a few loose ends before I start classes, I am going  to start a destination day.  I am not going to have a set day that I do a destination day, but simply when I am heading somewhere, when I want to escape to somewhere I know, or when I simply want to learn more about a place.  My first destination day, is my college.  to anyone who thinks the typical "hick, redneck, hillbilly" thoughts about West Virginia, I am here to tell you that in some places it is every bit true, BUT West Liberty,WV is beautiful!
I am posting some pictures I found online of my school!  I will try to snap some today! Can't wait to start back in a week!

Happy Monday

Flower Fix-up

Well, unfortunatly, my dress did not turn out well.I know what I did wrong, but also unfortunately, I don't think the fabric can be salvaged to make another dress.  I cut it to small and made up my own ways of sewing when I didn't know what to do.  Note to self:  Just call Grandma.
BUT I am not going to let that beautiful fabric go to waste.  It goes along with the color motif of my dorm room comforter/rug/pretty much everything in my room.  So I am going to make a pillowcase and a couple decorative pillows.  I also had some fabric left over so it may just go into my scrap box for a future endeavor.
This is what my comforter looks like:

I got it at Target last year. I fell in love with it right away.
I do not have the pillow shams because I am a cheapskate.  The comforter was on sale, but the pillow shams were not.  I was not going to pay almost the same price for the shams as I did the comforter.
But I thought the fabric would look nice with it and if not I can just use the plain jungle green side.  For those who need a reminder of what the fabric looks like:

 Isn't it too cute?

Well here is some inspiration I have had saved for awhile on some decorative pillows I have wanted to make.  I no longer have the site saved where I found them, no disrespect meant if I swiped it from someone.

These are more inspiration than anything.

I have some big plans for this blog and once I get settled in to school, I will be going full force.  I am still considering two jobs on campus, which I know most peoples opinion on, but I am only considering it.

College Checklist

Well the books have been purchased and the totes have been cleaned out.  To anyone who has never went away to college, let me tell you, it is a pain in the butt to get ready for.  You don't realize when you first go away that it really is going to become your home away from home.  I sometimes wish I had went away right off the bat.  Now, before anyone bites my head off, hear me out.  I wish I had gone right away to college because maybe I would not have goofed off so much (or as mom pointed out I could have goofed off more!), I would probably be graduated by now, and/or working on my Master's.  I realize all this and yes somedays it makes me very depressed and very down on myself.  BUT, I am glad I didn't for many more reasons then those listed.  If I would've went away right off the bat, I would not have met my fiance, I would not have met my very best friend (who by the way I am going to miss very much, once I go back to school), and very possibly not my other best friends that I am friends with at school.  I would probably have dropped out of school when I found out my mom had cancer, so therefore it is good I stayed here.  I helped with my mom's business.
I went completely off topic.  But I am a queen of lists.  I found a list online of things you need when you are going to college and adjusted it to my personal needs.

Wednesday...crafting day!

Well I know I said I was going to start doing Wednesday Letter's, BUT I decided my first letter is better set for the very last Wednesday of my break.

But I also still wanted to post something for today. So I decided to post some of the little projects I have been working on.
A few weeks ago my cousins were in (a couple posts back), and my cousin Katie's little girl loves bows.  So I made her a couple.  Now I am just using some ribbon I had around from a couple art projects in Art Education last fall.

A few interesting flowers I found tutorials for online.  Some of them I did a little differently.

Now these cute little flowers I learned how to make online.  Let me say I love them!

Here I am wearing one of these little flowers I created:

This is my hanging earring holder I made:
Cute huh? I am always losing my earrings, so hopefully now it will happen less often.

This is my reminder board:

I am the queen of Post-Its so it will be nice to have something cute to go with them once I am at school!

I have had this fabric sitting around for awhile, debating on what I should do with it.  I bought it at Wal-Mart on sale and just couldn't dare cut it until I figured out what to do with it.  I need the practice on sewing so let's hope I kill it with this.

I think I found a solution. I found this cute dress tutorial over at A Law Student's Journey.  I like it because it is simply and will be awesomely cute.I hope.My sewing skills are still a little rough.
