Last night my mom and I were grocery shopping in the local Wal-Mart and we were debating what to have. We were in the bakery section looking at bread and I saw one of my favorite things in the world--ciabatta bread rolls. I said to mom "could we please have Cubans before I go back to school?" You see, in my family, we use these as the bread for our Cuban Sandwich. What is a Cuban sandwich you ask?I will explain at the end of this entry. So mom agreed, and what bought what ingredients we did not have at the house and went home to make these yummy-licious sandwiches! Well, those of you who know me personally know that I am a creature of habit. I get in ruts with food, clothing, etc. Once I get a taste for something, I usually eat the same thing for awhile, except at school because unless I eat greasy pizza or burgers, that really isn't possible. So anyway, I had the same thing for dinner tonight...the only difference is this evening I remembered to snap at least a couple pictures. The rest I will pull from the internet.
Cuban Sandwich
Ingredients:
Ham
Pork Tenderloin (or in my case leftover pulled pork)
Provolone Cheese
Yellow Mustard
Ciabatta Roll (I used an onion poppy flavor, but any flavor works)
Pickles
Equipment:
Sandwich Press(or George Foreman grill)
Serrated Butcher knife
Step 1: Split top off ciabatta roll (if they are pre-cut, skip)
Step 2: Scoop a little bread out of top of ciabatta roll(on the inside). You can set this aside for something else, or you can snack on this while you cook.
Step 3: Put mustard in the little "cubby" you made in the top.
Step 4: Put in pickles.
Step 5: Heat up pork a little...I cook it the night before and use the leftovers after dinner.

Step 6: Put pork on.
Step 7: Put cheese on.
Step 8: Put ham on.
Step 9: Close sandwich and put in sandwich press. Leave about 4 minutes and then quarter turn it.
Step 10: After quarter turning the sandwich, leave in a couple more minutes.
Step 11: Remove sandwich and then cut in half.
Step 12: Enjoy!! :)

Here are a couple pictures of my sandwich.
In other news, I go back to school two weeks from today. I do not feel prepared at all. I am ordering books tomorrow and going through all my things from last year to re-organize it. The are those tupperware tubs. It kinda reminds me of Harry Potter...cleaning out all the broken quills, random potions ingredients, my Qudditch robes...well a girl can wish right?Anyway it is similar...except not. I am going to make a list of everything I need to take and everything I still need to get (one of those things being HOPEFULLY a haircut).
Also, if I find a job on campus...here are some things I would LOVE to add to wardrobe.
